About the role

About the team

Our backend team builds the APIs behind marketplaces, export platforms and internal tools that real businesses run on every day. You will work in a small squad with a product lead, a frontend engineer and QA, and you will own your services end to end.

How we work

Short cycles, with a demo to the client every two weeks
Code review on every change, and time set aside for tests
You deploy what you build — no hand-off to another team

What you will do

Design and build REST APIs in FastAPI with clean, layered architecture
Model data in PostgreSQL and write migrations that are safe to run in production
Review code and mentor mid-level engineers on the team
Work with the client and product lead to turn requirements into a technical plan
Keep services observable, tested and fast

What we are looking for

5+ years building production web services, 3+ of them in Python
Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience
Experience with an async framework such as FastAPI, or Django at scale
Comfortable with Docker, CI pipelines and cloud deployment
Clear written English for client-facing technical discussion

Nice to have

Redis, background job queues or event-driven systems
Payment, KYC or marketplace domain experience
Experience integrating LLM APIs into products
